In the Winter season, the west gate of Yellowstone Park has very limited entry for motorized access. All information for the opening/closing dates and access are listed at the NPS website.
What is the weather like that time of the year?
A question we get a lot and wish we could accurately answer. Cabins West Lodging is located at 6600 feet in mountain elevation, the weather is very unpredictable and can change from very comfortable warm temperatures one minute to snowing in July. Our typical Summer temperatures are 70 – 80 degrees for the highs to 40 – 50 degrees for the lows. Our Off-Season/Winter months can vary from -40 – +40 degrees. We always recommend packing a variety of clothing to meet any weather changes that may occur.
